Working in the distribution center is a great way for volunteers to support the Capital Area Food Bank on the front lines of the distribution process. Volunteers provide the essential first step in getting food flowing to the men, women, and children we serve in the Greater Washington Metropolitan area. Volunteers assist with sorting food donations and packingemergency and senior food boxes along our motorized conveyor belt. Volunteer work isconsidered light to medium labor. Volunteers should dress appropriately for working in awarehouse and closed-toed shoes are required.
