Good food today. Brighter futures tomorrow. Volunteer.

Every year, hundreds of companies support the food bank. Partnership with the food bank provides the opportunity for collaboration and a shared sense of contribution to our community. And with many people working remotely over the past year, employee engagement is more important than ever.

In-person Volunteering at the Capital Area Food Bank:

Volunteering at our DC distribution center provides the essential first step in getting food flowing into the community. Volunteers assist with sorting food donations and packing food boxes along our conveyor belt. Volunteer work is considered light to medium labor.

Ready to bring a group?

1. Consult our calendar to determine when might work for your company (We are currenlty only booking for dates that are on our calendar).

2. Once you have a date, reach out to our team  to make a reservation. (IMPORTANT: You must contact the food bank to make a group reservation. This helps us accurately manage the number of volunteers required for each shift.)

3. Recruit your co-workers!
